You'll be able to increase your freestyle rapping skills by incorporating what I call the 5 people theory into your life. This theory says that you will become or take on the average skills of the 5 people that are closest to you. So if this is the case, then you want to surround yourself with five people that have better skills in rapping or freestyling. In this article, we will take a look at how we are going to do this.
Step #1 - Find 5 new or 5 people that freestyle or rap with better skills than you.
You want to surround yourself with 5 people whose skills are better than yours. When I tell you to surround yourself, meaning that you have to hang with them, watch their actions, pay attention to them and learn whatever you can from them. As you absorb all of this, your skills will naturally develop. As you continue to learn tips and tidbits, your knowledge of the science of freestyle will improve. One of the secrets is that you must be open to constantly learning.
Step #2 - If you cannot find 5 people, browse on youtube.
You will be in a area that you can't find 5 people. If this is the case, then you definitely should get on-line and plan on spending some time going through the youtube videos.
Search for videos that show freestyle battles or people freestyling. Study as many people as possible. Watch their mannerisms and pay attention to how they rhyme. Again, the more that you study these videos, the harder your skills will naturally develop.
Step #3 - Go into chatrooms and begin battling
This can be a little bit easier than actually battling live. You'll be able to practice your battling and not really be that embarrassed when you lose. A thing to keep in mind is not to give up if you keep losing your battles. Each battle that you get into whether you win or lose is just a chance to learn more and get better at your freestyling. You will probably gain a lot of respect from other freestylers.
Step #4 - Battle with a picture of someone you don't care for
If you wouldn't like to go into chatrooms, you can start by battlingby yourself with a picture of someone that you do not care for. This really is a chance to practice on your own. You can start battling the picture for 5 minutes along with your instrumental beats.
All this practice can assist you to get your foot in the door and will also enable you to develop and take your freestyle rap skills to the next level. Your secret is to work on developing a quick wit and spontaneous rhythms.
If you’re a passionate salsa dancer who wants to push the limits and learn some moves that are simply hot, then you probably want to know where to find the best salsa lesson. Or more importantly, where to find the best method of becoming a better dancer.
The thing with salsa is that there are many ways to actually find a salsa lesson. You dont always have to take a class. Learning some new moves can be done in more ways than one, and it doesn’t always involve a certified instructor…
You can hit the clubs and dance with skilled partners. Don’t be shy, just ask them to dance! They can definitely show you a thing or two.
I was talking to an up and coming freestyle rapper the other day, and he was telling me that particular of his problems was his freestyle rhythm? After observing and listening, it seemed that the only part of his act that he needed to improve was his rhythm. So let's discuss a bit about rhythm today.
A lot of people claim that they don't have any rhythm. Personally I don't believe this, mainly because rhythm is such a part of our world. Think about it. If you are a breathing and living human being, then you definitely have rhythm within you. As long as your heart beats, you have rhythm. Your heart beats with a certain rhythm. Do you walk, run, skip or jump? Then you definitely have rhythm.
Think of how your rhythms change. Think of what affects those rhythms. One thing that can truly affect your internal rhythms is your emotional state. Look at how your heartbeat races if you're excited or scared or are surprised about something. Look at how your heartbeat slows down if you decide to take a seat in the lounge chair to relax and watch television.
Let's discuss your walking, running or skipping. At times you may walk at a brisk pace. Maybe you're headed to something that you don't really want to try and do. In cases like this you may be moving at a slower pace or rate. These are typically all examples of how everyone has a natural rhythm inside of them.
Since we certainly have established the fact that you have rhythm, let's correlate that to your freestyle experience. Whenever you freestyle you must remember that you do this over instrumental beats. So take a lot of time and pay attention to the instrumental beats until you can hear them in your head. While you are listening to the beats, try to move to them. Don't worry about how you look. Just allow your body to move to the beats.
